Who this course is for:
This Beginner Artist Course is designed to give young children the tools they need to begin their artistic journey into self-expression, reflection, and creative thinking.
BEGINNER ARTIST COURSE
Each class consists of one 60-minute lesson.
1:5 ratio
1:5 ratio Teacher to Student ratio, or better. All instructors are police-checked, first-aid trained, triple-reference checked, and highly trained.
The number of students:
6 – 8 students per class.
Two teachers per class.
Certificate of Course Completion
Upon completion of a course, a Certificate will be issued. A course completion certificate says students attended all the classes required, passed all the tests required, and handed in all the work required.
The classes will be held in downtown Quispamsis at a private Art studio.
They will take place once a week, on Wednesday or Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Beginner Artist Course Curriculum
Students will build and develop a foundation of skills by learning and working through the essential elements and principles of art including:
– Line, color, space, shape, texture, pattern, and balance.
– This module also includes art history, media exploration, creative self-expression, cultural appreciation, and much more.
This Module consists of the lessons of the visual art curriculum and emphasizes teaching drawing and painting techniques, the Art Elements and Principles (including color, line, and space), composition, art history, and self-expression.
During our lessons, students will:
• Receive personalized instruction as they create storyboards, unique story characters, text bubbles, and their very own comic strips
• Learn to draw with inks, pencils, pens, and a wide variety of art materials
• Learn a wide variety of artistic drawing and painting techniques
• Explore their imagination to create unique works of art that truly express themselves
• Gain confidence in their work and themselves as artistic individuals
• Benefit with enhanced health and wellness that art and creativity are known for, such as increased self-esteem, focus, and communication skills.

Module 1. Introduction to Drawing & Sketching
This module gives your child a solid foundation for drawing still-life and compositions. Your child will be taught the basics of sketching and drawing, proportions theory, shading and the effective use of light and shadow. She will learn all the artistic skills needed to bring to life various compositions from their own imagination. They will also learn to use a wide variety of media and art techniques:
